So its a bit too slow to do any uploading or browsing. =( Sort of like going back to dial up internet days! Shocking!

Latest news? It's been cold and rainy in Perth. And it's going to continue that way for awhile.

Been out house hunting. It's quite daunting when you think you're going to be spending over 350k on a house and having about 60% of your monthly income going into repaying the loan initially... Puts a lot of pressure on picking the right house and making the right decision. Trusting that God will provide!

Went for another dress up party. This time it was glnenananana's 21st. The theme? What do I want to be when I grow up (or something along those lines). It was fun. =) With some very interesting speeches and sharing. Heaps of photos but as I said before, internet too slow to upload. =(

Anyways, better stop here since it's meant to be a short post (and i'm at work)....

Bored at work

I'm bored! Doing all this estimates at work for new work is extremely boring.

Anyways, since Jess insisted on a blog, here it is.

1. Harry Potter 5th movie. It was dark. And definitely moving away from being a kids film. No more light happy music you find in the earlier films. Somehow didn't really enjoy it that much. Maybe cause I'm not a huge potter fan.

2. Hippo's Creek. Had dinner there on Thursday with Keith, Koh and Andrew. Wasn't too bad. They got massive steaks there and interesting game meat. But apparently, Hog's Breath in Joondalup is way better according to the guys.

3. Went to Keith's house for his surprise farewell on Wed night. He would have left today to go home to KL. Outstanding brother who left a huge impact on many people despite being here only for a short 1 year. His house in East Perth left a huge impact on many people as well... =P Very nice!

4. Painting the gutters at the home before the new pergola gets installed. Who knew a new coat of paint does makes such a huge difference. Need to get it done by next Wednesday! And rainy weather coming up doesn't help all that much.

5. Visitors. Ah Boy Justin is in town! Good to see him again. Went to Concas with a whole bunch of people for supper and unfortunately, the mussels we ordered were a bit too spicy and getting more expensive each time we visit. Seter Pu was also here visiting from KL. Managed go out for dinner as well as played a game of ball with him. Jamesie was also back for a couple of weeks from Melb. Good to see all this people again.

6. Glenananananana's 21st Birthday on Sunday. A bunch of us 'attempted' to surprise her on Sat night. It was almost a disaster when she came home at 11.30pm and saw all our cars parked on the side of the park outside her place. Also a couple of rowdy drunk 18 year old boys also tried to crash the surprise in the park. Oh well, kept things interesting. =) Happy Birthday glennanana.

7. Basketball has started up again. Sat mornings at UWA. Been great fun. Love the exercise.

Yup. That's about it. Got some great photos to post. But since I'm at work, the next blog perhaps....

Cheers.
Cough cough

I've been sick. The whole year I've been healthy and just when it came time for the OCF Winter Camp, I had to go and get sick on the first day! Well, it's not that bad. I still managed to have a great time at camp and wasn't slowed down too much (despite my old age).... Camp this year was good. Perhaps I'll post some pics up when I get them off Deez. Most enjoyed the couple of talks by Brian Harries I managed to make. As well as one of the best BRG talks I've heard by Ronnie and Christa. Cooking in the kitchen with the Aunties is ALWAYS interesting. =) And the talent time on the last night was absolutely outrages.

Another highlight before the camp was Ningus and Davey's birthday bash. Do you believe a dress up party bash??? It was fun nonetheless. Some very interesting costumes! I should post some pics... But you can find most of it from Ningus blog.

And finally, the last highlight. TRANSFORMERS!! Great movie! Although, you can't help but wonder about something that could make a bunch of grown man in the cinema to sit restlessly, waiting in anticipation and upon the first sighting of a transformer, almost giggling in glee and not being able to stop themselves from making "shee kou koo quo qua ka" noises.... or maybe it's just me...

Yay! This is what happens when you perfectly time the moment to shove a handful of ice down someone's back. =) Happy Birthday Chin Wee!

This was at Nathan and Chew Sia's house warming. Some people were extremely "happy". =) Some wasn't... lol.

State Youth Games! (More pics from Ningus blog)

The guys accommodation. Yup, we had to sleep in a classroom on the floor. There were actually more bedding than this the nights before. There literally wasn't any floor space left to walk around. On the last night, a few people have packed up and gone home early.

Half the basketball team (Josh, Dean, Raph, Ronnie, me) going for ice cream after making it into the grand finals (following tradition). But just found it quite cute so I'm including it. Awesome weekend!

Result? Well, the result doesn't matter. What was important was the journey. =) Met some new friends and got to know some people a lot better!

Now I'm dead tired and it's back to work tomorrow. I've never been this sore since the climb up Mt Kinabalu 2 years ago!! Going to take a nice long sleep, in a proper bed...

Good to see you guys again, Weng, Rebecca and little Abi. =) Thanks for your hospitality.

Alright, g'night all!
p.s. oh, Subi took home the championship!!! =)
I'm turning into one of those 'once-a-month' bloggers!

Well, better start writing some stuff down before that happens. Let me see, where to start?

First of all, there were some celebrations this month. In fact, there were ALOT of celebrations this month! Mothers day and my sisters birthday among one of them. Chin Wee's birthday and baptism! Woohoo! Ningus birthday. Plus more to come before this month is up!

Last Friday we had a project team dinner at Maya Masala in northbridge. It wasn't the first time i went out with my work colleagues for an all expenses paid team dinner. But it was the first time I hung out with them for a bit after dinner. You know they say social events is a good opportunities to rub shoulders with upper management to increase your chances of moving up in your career. However, most social events involve heavy drinking. And it's amazing what a 'night out' involves for my work mates (some of which are in their 40s mind you). The sheer amount of alcohol that is consumed is quite impressive, not to mention how much is spent buying rounds after rounds for one another. And then there's the jumping from one hot spot to another, getting in and out of taxis and paying more money on fares! Well, I was purely an observer for the night, so by midnight, i was ready to go home while the rest partied into the night. After that night, I don't think I want to be rubbing shoulders too often if that's what they're going to be doing each time!

Other events in a current affair, tabby threw a great dinner party with absolutely delicious lamb roast. And glenanana's home made waffles were excellent as well.

I've decided to join State Youth Games this year. While I'm still considered a youth that is. Was playing basketball with some of the subi guys and it was really quite a nice change from playing with the younger blokes from OCF (not that I don't enjoy playing with them). There are quite a few things that these young players can learn and pick up from the older guys. Especially when it comes to team play and team oriented basketball. That being said, my team play is pretty rusty too. Got to make extra effort to look for the pass and cuts and screens and box outs... Well, anyways, I wonder how the team I'm with going to be like at the games...

Ok. I think that's all I can remember for now. So I'll just stop here.
